Custom Modes

Create your own modes with a custom name, system prompt, and tool set.

What are custom modes?

Custom modes are user-defined configurations. You set the name, icon, system prompt, allowed tools, and default model. They appear alongside the five built-in modes in the mode selector.

How do I create a custom mode?

Open Settings → Custom Modes → New Mode. Give it a name and write a system prompt describing how UltraCoder should behave in that mode. Select which tools it can use and save.

How do I activate a custom mode?

Click the mode selector in the chat panel — your custom modes appear at the bottom of the list. Type /modename to switch inline, just like built-in modes.
